I'm going to guess Kessel's a Bowie fan. This is eclectic stuff:
- "The Big Shill" has a Frippish/Andy Summers-ish guitar sound
- "Junkie" is a sound collage that makes the word sound like gibberish
- "Roadside Virgin" makes me guess he's heard Jon Wayne
- Daniel Johnston has an uncredited cameo on Kessel's answering machine ("O.G.M.9.19.90").
Kessel would be fun to hear live, I'm sure. If you live in New York City, go see him.
Do not confuse Born Late with Born Bad. That'd just piss people off, now, wouldn't it.
