The rooms are circa 1955 too. No remodeling here, nope. No matching plastic bed sets or "brass" fixtures. Those rooms are a dime a dozen in Waikiki... er, I mean, they'll cost you an extra hundred or so. W and I have another priority.

Namely, a tiki priority. The Hawaiiana has two swimming pools surrounded by gloriously manicured tropical gardens. And on the grounds also, are many excellent tikis. Doesn't this one resemble Marge Simpson?

Paul's 5 day planner
In the room, we check Paul's 5 Day Planner for a weather forecast. Look at those December temperatures! Paul must not surf because he doesn't report on swell conditions.

W settles in for the night. Thankfully, the beds aren't circa 1955. In fact, the Hawaiiana is a very comfortable stay with all the basics: 1) clean room 2) excellent mattress 3) lotsa hot water 4) decent Cable TV PLUS a kitchenette and complimentary fresh pineapple. I liked the Hawaiiana so much, I had them stamp one of my t-shirts with their towel logo before we left.
