This unusual display and scene takes place in the foothills an [sic] adjacent a river valley in the western part of the U.S. The time is daybreak and the mule deer are moving back into the protection of the high country after feeding in the valley night underthe protection of darkness. The three mt. lion have been hunting as a team for the past several days without success. Usually they will not attack and kill mule deer. Because of their desparate [sic] hunger for food they have made this attempt. Whether or not they will be successful is anyone's guess.

Fortunately, the huge gashes and gushing blood should make guessing much easier.
(And aren't mountain lions known for living and hunting alone?)
