Unfortunately, you can't hear our parade soundtrack, which we blasted from two ghetto blasters, one out of each back window. But if you've ever heard Whipped Cream & Other Delights, well...
But what I was gonna play had to be nixed because the parade organizers stressed that all parade entries had to be "suitable for family viewing." I know, I know, sound isn't something one views.
But if you heard this record, you'd know why I couldn't use it in the parade. No matter how brilliant it is.
It's a couple of Public Enemy raps set to Herb Alpert music in such a convincing manner that one would almost swear this is how the Tijuana Brass must have been meant to sound. (You can still try and order this--it's a 45 single, so you'll need a turntable--from Eerie Materials out of San Francisco. And they also offer the incomparable Lou Minatti!) |
