It's always seemed like a mistake of chronology, and sort of a pity, that Robert Crumb is associated with the hippy era. This music owes almost nothing to the sixties ("Nobody likes our music," sing the Serenaders) and everything to obscure old twenties 78rpm songs and Hawaiian slack-key meanderings. Though not entirely the same styles, if the music on the Crumb soundtrack didn't bug you, this won't hurt your ears, either.
