Baker, California is the home of what they bill as "The World's Largest Thermometer."

Here's a daytime shot of the thermometer from Wagner's 97 Burning Man Trek. It's not filled with mercury, which disappoints some people. But at night you can see the thing for miles as you approach Baker. |
