In an effort to avoid having to keep gluing Wagner together, i've filled up his hollow self with an expandable foam product called "great stuff," which has not only made him more durable, but transformed him into a flotation device.

Wagner's new innards emboldened him to act as his own raft. But when he began to pull away from us, we had to paddle hard to catch up to him. Riding the rapids didn't seem like a good idea for a porcelain statue.
