ORUMPY OLDFAET
Here's a pair of buttons I'm not sure whether I still own. They were lurking in a junk shop in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, on X-mess day, 2001. Their history before that day is unknown, but apparently began in a place largely unfamiliar with the English language, such as, say, the United States -- except that the sort of individuals who would design this sort of button would be perfectly familiar with the phrase GRUMPY OLD FART, having seen it printed on the ballcaps of their better-off relatives.
The depiction of Sting captures the very soul of my opinion of him, post-Police. Or, as the reigning Czar of Family Values recently ruminated before a national television audience: "To be Ozzy Osbourne ... it could be worse -- I could be Sting."
