That night, we checked into a motel in Benson (my night photos didn't turn out). There was a very friendly, very vocal cat in the office named MC. We asked what "MC" stands for.

Motel Cat. Duh.

Then we ate at Reb's Cafe. Excellent food. (We had great food luck on this trip, starting with Tag's in Coolidge.) We were the last customers to enjoy a meal in the old decor -- after we paid the check, they closed down to renovate. Hope they don't change the food.

Anyone have any info about this old rebel yell sign we found next to the cafe? Maybe an old Rebel Gas sign? It looked as though it had been painted over an old Atlantic Richfield sign. Maybe the Reb's / Rebel Gas connection is bogus. I don't remember seeing any of those in Arizona.
